Number 12
Heritage Foundations Index of Economic Freedom 2004 puts the United States at number 12 behind such noteables as Denmark and Switzerland. We barely beat out Sweden at number 13 and, by the way, on the issue of «Fiscal Burden» Sweden, the land of the highly taxed and the home of the welfare state, beat the United States!
